She was born October 9, 1933 at Malmo, Nebraska to Harry and Sylvia (Brecka) Tenopir. She married Richard Zakovec on February 17, 1953. Bernice married Frank Conkling September 30, 1990. Bernice is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; daughter, Janice Leffers; brother, Wilford Tenopir and grandson, Adam Buchta.
