(Rab) Jones, 72, or 802 North Coulter Drive died at 5:30 p.m. Friday from an apparant heart attack suffered while working on a boat in the family garage. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Andrew R. Heskett, pastor, and Dr. Charles F. Pitis, former Central Baptist Church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Steep Hollow Cemetery under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home. Mr. Jones, a retired barber, was born March 15, 1893, in the Harvey Community. He retired in 1958 after operating Jones Barber Shops in both Bryan and College Station for 33 hears. He was a deacon in Central Baptist Church, past president of the Men's Bible Class and a former teacher in the intermediate department. Mr. Jones served in the 36th Infantry Division during World War I in Battery C., 131 FA Battalion. The body will lie in state at Central Baptist Church Sunday from 3 p.m. until last rites at 4 p.m. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Buna Jones of Bryan: two daughter, Mrs. Irvin Sanddeer of Denver, Colo. and Miss Sue Jones of Baytown; two brothers, Paul Jones of Bryan and W. H. (Jack) Jones of Steep Hollow; a sister, Mrs. Elmer Bullock of Bryan, and two grandchildren., Pallbearers will be Don Dougherty, Ben Jordan, Jr., Manuel Akin, El L. McIlwain, Nunn Jones and George Binford. Honorary pallbearers are deacons of the Central Baptist Church.
