Edith Arlena Sooter March 22, 1923 - May 22, 2014 Edith Sooter, 91, of Lubbock and formerly of Levelland, passed away on May 22, 2014. Visitation will be Monday, May 26, 2014, from 3 to 5 p.m. at George Price Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, in George Price Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland, Texas. Edith was born March 22, 1923, in Mt. Vernon, Texas, to James Wesley and Mary Ester Leavelle. She graduated high school in Whiteface, Texas, in the 1940's. She married Leary Sooter on Nov. 5, 1944. Edith was known for her amazing sense of humor, her love for family, and her patience and tolerance. Edith is survived by her sons, Leary Sooter and wife Sandra; Phil Sooter and wife Marietta; grandchildren, Brigette Taylor and husband David, Shockey Nail and husband Ronnie, Brent Sooter and wife Stacy, Julee Foster and husband Sean, and Shawn Sooter; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. The family would like to suggest donations to be made to the American Lung Association .
