Bio

Wilbur L. Meier Sr., 71, of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of Doniphan, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, in Cedar City, Utah. Services were on Tuesday in Colorado Springs, Colo. Mr. Meier was born on March 18, 1928, at Doniphan to John and Geneva Meier. He attended Doniphan schools and graduated from Doniphan High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. He married Frances Stauss in January 1952 in Grand Island. He lived in Colorado Springs, Colo., and worked at the U.S. Air Force Academy for 30 years. He retired and moved to Apache Junction, Ariz., 10 years ago. Survivors include his wife; one son, Wilbur Jr. of South Weber, Utah; three daughters, Marilyn of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Carol and Mitzi of Arizona; nine grandchildren; and one brother, Marlin of Weldon, Calif. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Alvin Ray.
