Geraldine Marie Havemann Goetzel of Orange Grove, TX passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at the age of 77. She was born January 21, 1943 in Orange Grove, Texas to Roland and Irene(Nesloney) Havemann. Blessed with 50 years of marriage, Geraldine married Burnell Goetzel on July 28, 1967. Survivors include her husband Burnell; one sister Joyce (Jerry) Gatten; one nephew Christopher Gatten; one niece Michelle (Russell) Gatten Stall; one great nephew Trevor Ryan Stall; and one great niece Paige Elizabeth Stall. Geraldine retired after 30 years of banking in Corpus Christi and Robstown, Texas. She was a member of the 1st Evangelical Lutheran Church of Orange Grove. Served on the board of directors as secretary of the Orange Grove Area Museum from 1998-2008.Services are under the direction of Dobie Funeral Home in Mathis, Texas on Friday April 24, 2020 at the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Sons of Hermann Cemetery in Orange Grove, TX. Pall Bearers: Paul Schmidt, Jerry Gatten, Christopher Gatten, Russell Stall, Trevor Stall, and Alton Goetzel Jr. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the 1st Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
