Fort Bend Herald, April 16, 2020: Johnnie Felix Zak, 84, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at his home in Rosenberg. He was born June 23, 1935 in Granger to Louis John Zak and Louise Hattie Pekar Zak. Johnnie was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and worked for 40 years as an auto technician for Ford Motor Company. He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve. Johnnie enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, polka dancing club with his wife for 11 years and traveling to casinos with his wife. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Annie Zbranek Zak; daughter, Monica Zak Petrosky and husband, Calvin; brother, Richard Zak and wife, Annie; 2 sisters, Evelyn Cervenka, Louise Howell; sister-in-law, Loretta Zak; 2 grandchildren, Justin Petrosky and fiancée, Chanaan Cecala and her daughter Sapphira, Brandon Petrosky and wife, Amber; 2 great-grandchildren, Zakary and Ryleigh Petrosky and Godson, John David Howell; along with a host of other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 4 brothers, Joseph, Edward, Anton and Felix Zak. Private graveside services will be held Saturday in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A walk by visitation will be Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 1-2 P.M. in the Chapel at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home with no more than 10 attendees at a time in the building. A mass will be announced at a later date. The family would like to thank A-Med Hospice caregivers, Kimberly, Lashell, Ray and Cara for their loving care. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church “Investing In Our Future”.
