Source: Daily Ardmoreite ORR -- Graveside services for Marion Thomas "Bud" Walker, 83, Ringling, are at 2 p.m. today at Orr Cemetery. Born Nov. 16, 1917, in Orr to Ide Ardle and Mary Jane Harper Walker, he died Nov. 22, 2000, in Healdton. He married Mary Ruth Cavins on Thanksgiving Day of 1941. She preceded him in death in 1978. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jack and Wes; and three sisters, Irene, Opal and Gertrude. Raised at Orr, he graduated from Orr High School in 1935. On Jan. 11, 1943, he entered the United States Army, serving in the 102nd Infantry Division in Europe during World War II. After his honorable discharge on Feb. 27, 1946, he began working for the Chicago Bridge and Iron Company, retiring in 1979. He had lived at Ringling off and on since his retirement. He was a member of the CB&I Boilermakers Union and American Legion Ringling Post 96. Survivors include one son Jon M. "Butch" Walker, Ringling and numerous nieces and nephews.
