The Kansas City Star (Kansas City Missouri) 20 Feb 1989 Mon p. 7: Michael Ray Jolliffe, 34, Washington D. C., formerly of the Kansas City area, died Feb. 13, 1989, at a hospital in Washington. He was born in Kansas City and lived in Garden City, Mo., and again in Kansas City before moving to Washington in 1985. Mr. Jolliffe had been a design artist for the Natural History Museum of the Smithsonian Art Institute, a branch of the Smithsonian Institution since 1985. He received an associate's degree from Johnson County Community College and a bachelor's degree in fine arts from the Kansas City Art Institute. He taught classes in mime and art for hearing impaired children at Meadowbrook Junior High School, Johnson County Community College and at schools in Washington and Casper, Wyo. Survivors includes his father, Raymond Jolliffe, Archie, Mo.; three half-sisters, Sharon Houchen, Freeman, Mo., Suzanne Hendrickson of Peculiar, and Elaine Yungeberg, Shawnee; three half-brothers, Kenny Jolliffe, Overland Park, Ronnie Legendre, Harrisonville, and Victor Legendre, Raytown. Memorial services will be at 1 pm Saturday at the United Methodist Church of Harrisonville.
