Arnold Liska (208676674) Suggested edit: The Banner-Press, David City, NE - Thur, 23 Feb 1989 Funeral services for a Dwight area native, Arnold J. Liska, 68, were conducted Monday, Feb. 6, at the Butherus-Maser-Love Chapel, Lincoln, with the Rev. J. Dallas Gibson officiating. Mr. Liska died Februay 3 at his home in Lincoln. Arnold John Liska, the son of John Robert and Helen Anna Mares Liska, was born Aug. 27, 1920, at Dwight. He attended and graduated from Dwight Public School. He enlisted in the Army Air Force on Sept. 24, 1942, and was stationed at Scott Air Force Base near St. Louis. There he met and married Lockie Page Wallace on Nov. 6, 1943. She preceded him in death on Sept. 11, 1977. After completing his time in service, Arnold made his home in Lincoln. He was employed as a dispatcher for the Nebraska State Patrol for 23 years prior to his retirement on June 1, 1986. Arnold was united in marriage to Marion Otte Herforth on June 6, 1981. He was a member of Sheridan Lutheran Church, American Legion Post No. 3, and Lancaster Lodge No. 54, AF&AM, all of Lincoln. Music was an important part of his life.
