DONALD DUANE VETOS SGT US ARMY DATE OF BIRTH: 08/23/1933 DATE OF DEATH: 07/02/2018 BURIED AT: MILTON LAWNS MEMORIAL PARK 2200 MILTON AVENUE JANESVILLE, WI Yuma, AZ -- Donald D. Vetos passed away at Yuma Regional Medical Center, on July 2, 2018 in Yuma, AZ. Donald served his country with the U.S. Army, and helped design and build the first aircraft plotting board in an underground facility in Washington, D.C. during his service. Donald worked as a truck, auto and aircraft mechanic, an auto assembler at General Motors, a Maintenance Manager at a large plastic thermal forming manufacturer, a president of a family owned trucking company, a farmer, and his last job was in the produce section at Fry's Grocery Store in the Yuma Foothills. He was proud of being a hard worker, and helpful person. Donald loved to fly, and was a private pilot, owning his own aircraft in earlier years. He loved music, and played the harmonica and sang. He was one of the original harmonicats of Yuma, and loved to attend jam sessions around the Yuma area to play and sing. He also gave to the community by helping to plan and carry out fundraising jams for needy children. Donald was a God loving man, a great husband, super dad and wonderful grandpa. He was a great example of how to live life and will be missed. Donald is survived and missed by his two brothers, Lester (Eunice) and Stanley Jr. (Paulette); his sister, Shirley; his wife of 66 years, Constance; his son, Gordon (Susan); four grand-children: Corey (Ashley), Krystle (Greg), Brianna (Brad), and Brittney (Evan); 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley C. Vetos and Elsa M. Bowyer Vetos. A celebration of Life memorial service will be held for Donald on Saturday, October 6, starting at 1 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 2100 N. Washington St., Janesville WI, 53548
