Huey Pierce Garner, 84, of La Grange, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Huey was born in Winn Parish, LA on August 27, 1935, the son of Steve and Edna (Allen) Garner. Huey married Dorothy Garner in 1975. He worked as a welder in the gas and oil industry until his retirement. Huey enjoyed gardening and tinkering with objects. He also had a love for animals. He is survived by one nephew, Gene Garner of Houston, TX; two nieces: Carolyn Corcoran of Houston, TX and Kay Frazier of Crossville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Dorothy Garner. Graveside Services will be held at La Grange City Cemetery, at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, 240 Svoboda Ln., La Grange, TX 78945. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig - Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, 208 W. Pearl, La Grange, Texas.
