Bio
Janell JoAnn (Lawson) Selzer was born to Thomas L. Lawson and Mary F. (Curtis) Lawson, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, on February 2, 1925. She passed from this life in Lindsay, Oklahoma, on March 1, 2020, at the age of 95. Janell lived on a farm in Grady County near Bradley, Oklahoma since 1972. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Alex, Oklahoma. She was a “Rosie the Riveter” who worked at Tinker during WWII installing radios in airplanes. Janell worked more than twenty-five years as a bank teller at the Alex First National Bank. Janell married Arthur Franklin Selzer in Raton, New Mexico on October 9, 1945 and together they had two children, Dana and Kenny. They had a wonderful thirty-eight years together until Art’s passing in February of 1983. Janell retired from the bank to be with Art. They loved to travel to California and mine gold with their children. After Art’s passing she lived at the Selzer Family Farm taking care of the place. She loved the farm and all the activities that came with it, such as, raising her chickens, mowing 2 acres of grass, and renting the land to local farmers who grew alfalfa and maze. The outdoors made her happy and she liked to fish and hunt. She enjoyed setting down to relax while reading a good book, but also the thrill and chance of gambling. Of all the interests and enjoyments in her life her family was her greatest treasure. She lived for every moment that she got to spend with them. She was truly an amazing example of what a wonderful wife, mother, and friend should be. She leaves behind many that will hold on to her memory and miss her dearly. Left to cherish her memory is her sons: Dana Selzer of Bradley, Oklahoma and Kenny Selzer and wife Bonnie of Norman, Oklahoma, her five grandchildren: Somer Boschetti and husband Ryan of Phoenix, Arizona, Clarety Selzer of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Brett Selzer of Bradley, Oklahoma, Thomas Selzer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Davis Selzer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and her five great grandchildren: Kalissa Boschetti, Jayden Boschetti, Adilynn Boschetti, Zac Howie, and Amiya Bowens. She is preceded in death by her parents: Thomas and Mary Lawson and husband: Arthur Selzer. To honor Janell and her family’s wishes there will be no funeral services at this time. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Bradley Cemetery in Bradley, Oklahoma at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Scott and Angel Wilbourn of Boydston-Wilbourn Funeral Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma.J
