Bio

Edna Marie Siemers, 87, of Centennial, Colorado peacefully passed away on February 28th, 2020. She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald "Bud", parents Clement and Ruth, and her sister Delores. Edna was born in Schuyler, Nebraska to Clem and Ruth Shonka in July 1932 and the 2nd of 4 siblings. In 1939, the family moved to Fort Morgan, Colorado where her father was a service manager/mechanic and later moved to the Atwood, Colorado area to be closer to her mother's parents. Then early in 1942 moved to Sterling, Colorado. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1950 and worked at the telephone company, then in 1952 moved to Sidney, Nebraska and pursued her nursing career working for Drs. Cook, Binter and Thayer. That's where her knight in shining armor, Gerald "Bud" Siemers, swooped in and swept her off her feet! After dating a few years Bud and Edna were married on June 16, 1956 in Sidney, Nebraska. Together for 58 years they raised children Scott, Sandy, and Steve. Edna was blessed with grandchildren Spencer, Kara, Colbie, Braedi, Taylor, Shane, and Blake, great grandchildren Kade, Braxton, Jude, and Roman. Edna enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, golf, bowling, church functions, getting together with friends, and she loved being around family especially her grandchildren. She was adventurous, loved water sports and would always be the first one in the water. A truly wonderful woman that will be missed and remembered by all. Contributor: starbuck (47106319) •
