STODDARD - Died, December 16, 1908, Mrs. Maude Stoddard, aged about 27 years. She was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. G. D. Hoy, and died at the residence of her parents on East Oklahoma Avenue, where she been since Oct. 17, from Colorado, where she went in the hope of benefitting her health. She was afflicted with the dreaded disease consumption. She was the wife of Harry K. Stoddard, who formerly lived here and worked at his trade of printer, but left here with his family a couple of years ago to take a position at Independence, Kansas. For the past year or so, however, he has been roaming about the country, the last heard from him being at Sapulpa. Besides her husband, Mrs. Stoddard leave two little daughters, aged about 8 and 6 years. Esperance the older child has been living with her grandmother, Mrs. Croft, at Independence, Kansas, and came with Mrs. Croft to attend the funeral. The younger child, Vera, is here living with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hoy, and both children will be lovingly cared for. Funeral at 2 pm on Friday, from the residence, burial at the cemetery south of town. Mrs. Stoddard was a member of the Christian church and had many friends here in and out of the church who regret her departure and extend sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
