Fort Bend Mirror, December 22, 1982: Funeral services for Cora Katherine Allen, 93, of Sugar Land, were held Thursday, Dec. 16, at Birdston Cemetery in Streetman. Mrs. Allen died Tuesday, Dec. 14, in a Houston hospital. Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Barnett of Memphis, Texas and Bonita Pursley of Sugar Land; three sons, Alvin N. Mitchell of Sugar Land, George C. Allen of Humble, and Gerwood H. Allen of Grapeland; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
