In Memoriam R.C. BRINLEE January 29, 1932 ~ February 07, 2020 R. C. Brinlee, 88, of Wilburton, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020 in McAlester. R.C. was born on January 29, 1932 in Konawa to William Juddy Brinlee and Nora (Davis) Brinlee. He served in the U.S. Army, and received an honorable discharge in 1953. R.C. then attended Eastern A & M where he played baseball. He then attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 1959. As part of his employment with the National Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), he authored soil profiles and maps for several counties in Oklahoma. He retired from the NRSC in 1988. Following his retirement, he continued working for the NRCS as a contract laborer. R.C. was a cattleman and won many awards from the Oklahoma Steer Feedout. He participated in the Feedout from 1994 until 2007. When R.C. wasn't working on the farm and tending to his cows, he liked to fish. Family was very important to him, and he had a close relationship with his siblings. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. R.C. is survived by his children: Robert Brinlee and wife, Valerie of Clayton, David Brinlee and wife, Melinda of Wilburton, Judy Brinlee of Wilburton, and Linda Callaway and husband, Sean of Wilburton; Grandchildren: Ryan Brinlee and wife, Celia of Wilburton, Stephen Brinlee and wife, Brittney of Wilburton, Tyler Brinlee of Clayton, Taylor Brinlee, Reagan Brinlee, Madison Brinlee, Colter Keesee, and Seth Ehrhardt, all of Wilburton; Great-grandchildren: Rylan, Roman, Tatum and Aubree, all of Wilburton; his sister: Edith Lewis of Octavia; his brother: R.B. Brinlee and wife, Evelyn of Wheatland, Kansas; Sister-in-law: Patsy Brinlee of Wheatland, Kansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents: William and Nora Brinlee, his brother: James Brinlee, and brother-in-law: Norvel E. Lewis. Viewing will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Jones Harkins Funeral Home in Wilburton. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the Salt of the Earth Church in Wilburton with Pastor Cindy Shero officiating. A committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Octavia Cemetery in Octavia, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Ryan Brinlee, Stephen Brinlee, Taylor Brinlee, Tyler Brinlee, Colter Keesee, Seth Ehrhardt, Roman Brinlee, and Tatum Brinlee. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Abernathy, Jerry Nichols, Larry Leamy, Kirk Stevens, J.D. Holland, George Cuzalina, John Sokolosky, Mike Brinlee, Warren Brinlee, Buddy Lewis, Curtis Lewis, Tommy Lewis, Blaine Brinlee, and Bodie Brinlee. Just happen to see his obituary on the internet. He and all his brothers and wives came to my mom(Mary) and dad's(Tutter) 50th wedding anniversary celebration in July 2005 in Lake Charles. Appreciated all the special visits visiting my mom and dad. Our condolences.
