Walter Shaver June 20, 1950 - August 25, 2015 Walter's Obituary Walter "Walt" Shaver, 65, of Hartford died Tuesday, August 25, 2015. He was born June 20, 1950 in Sioux Falls, SD the son of Walter and Eleanor (Johns) Shaver. He grew up in Hawarden and Des Moines, Iowa. After graduating from Des Moines Technical High School he served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He moved to Hartford, SD in 1976 and met Teresa Wenzlaff and they were married October 15, 1983 in Hartford. Walt's career as a truck driver took him all over the country but most recently he worked at Western Coop Association, CHS, AMMI, and Flying J (Pilot). He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Walt enjoyed spending time with his kids, doing mechanical work, and watching NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Teresa. He is survived by his children ; Dylan of Hartford and Shelby (Sean) Kurtz of Humboldt; his sister, Sandy Warren Abel of St. Paul, MN; and his niece and nephews, Gene Abel of Santa Cruz, CA Justin(Casey) Wenzlaff of Humboldt, SD, Jesse(Pam)Wenzlaff of Hartford, SD, Amanda(Cody)Hoffman of Colton, SD; two great nephews Owen and Bo; his in laws, Wally(Sarah) Wenzlaff of Custer, SD, Terri Wenzlaff of Gunnison, CO and Patsi Wenzlaff of Hartford, SD Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Monday, August 31, 2015 10:00 AM Humboldt, SD 57035
