Simeon served as a Corporal in Company B., 3rd Regiment, Tennessee Infantry (Clacks) C.S.A. Records of the War Department Relating to Confederate Prisoners of War, 1861-1865, show that he was taken prisoner at the surrender of Fort Donelson in February 1862 and imprisoned at Camp Douglas, Illinois. On September 7, 1862 he was sent to Cairo and exchanged on September 23, 1862. His unit was paroled at Vicksburg, Mississippi, on September 23, 1862. At this point they were no longer prisoners, but could not rejoin the Confederate Army until they were formally exchanged on November, 10, 1862. Simeon rejoined the fight and was present at the Battles of Springdale, Chickasaw Bayou, Raymond, the Siege of Jackson, Mississippi, the Bombardment of Port Hudson, and Chickamauga, Georgia. He was killed in action at the Battle of Chickamauga and is presumed to have been buried in a mass grave. ∼ Killed in action at the Battle of Chickamauga, Walker Co., GA
