She worked hard all her life. Lived with Richardson grandparents in OK, worked in cotton fields, until they moved back to Leslie, AR. She then moved to Harrison and lived with her father's sister, and husband Hiram Sutterfield. He was a "G-Man" or U.S. Marshall.. Myrtle attended church with her future sister-in-laws, and was introduced to their brother, when he returned on a visit from Seattle, Washington. After a short courtship, and a secret marriage, they caught a train at Harrison, AR, back to Seattle. Where he worked for the city, and she worked in a laundry. They returned to Harrison, after birth of their first child. They farmed, and also served two terms of care for the Boone County Poor Home in Harrison (where Hillcrest is now). What a job, with taking care of the older people, their laundry, cooking, and sewing clothes for them. She loved flowers and was always searching for new varieties to grow in and around her home.
