Wesley Louis Smid Tuesday, September 21st, 1926 - Tuesday, January 28th, 2020 Obituary Wesley L. Smid, age 93, passed away on January 28, 2020 in Ennis, Texas. He was born in Ennis on September 21, 1926 to Emil and Frances (Pechal) Smid. Wesley married his wife of 72 years, Julia Prachyl, in 1948. He was a member of the St. John Catholic Church and the KJT. After serving in the Navy during World War II, he worked as a typesetter and plate maker for Ennis Business Forms for 42 years. Wesley’s talent with wood was amazing and he loved making something unique and beautiful out of it. He also enjoyed refinishing antiques and working on his immaculate yard. His fondest memories were fishing and spending time with his two grandsons. He is survived by his wife, Julia; daughters Susan and Denise (Donald Krajca); son Deonys; grandsons Jeremy Krajca (Shawnda), Justin Krajca (Rachel); three great grandchildren Audrey Krajca, and Julian and Jaxon Krajca. Wesley is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Frances Jurica and Mary Elzner; and brother Theo Smid. There will be a private service at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home, 800 S. Kaufman St. Ennis, Texas.
