Loraine Marie Christian was born June 20, 1931 in Terrell, TX to Milton and Janie (Nejtek) Drost and passed from this life on January 22, 2020 in Garland, TX. Loraine had many loves in her life. She enjoyed gardening with her flowers, but growing her vegetables and canning them was her favorite. She loved bridge and played every Wednesday. She was a long-time member at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lancaster and was an active member of the Alter Society. More than these, though, Loraine loved her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Joe Christian in 2017; her brother, Marvin Drost; and her parents. Loraine is survived by her daughters, Dena Rhoades and husband Mike, Cathey Mages and husband Frank; her grandchildren, Mitchell Hess, Steven Hess and wife Dejah, Jonathan Rhoades and wife Bonnie, Chad Rhoades and wife Erin; her great-grandchildren, Christian Hess and wife Sarah, Dr. Alex Hess, Rachel Hess, Kelly Gloria and husband Joe, Adriance Rhoades, Graylin Rhoades, Cheyenne Rhoades, and twins Taylor & Tyler Rhoades; her great-great-granddaughter, Gwyndolyn Hess; and her sister, Sharon Harris and husband Bob. Family will have a brief visitation from 1:00-1:30pm on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Byrum Funeral Home with graveside service immediately following at 2:00pm at Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster.
