Alice Meta Herbort Burleson, 86, of Aquilla, passed away on January 22, 2020, in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 27, 2020, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Whitney with Pastor Philip Wottrich officiating. Burial will follow at New Lebanon Cemetery near Aquilla. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at Mashall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Alice was born on June 5, 1933, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Walter Herbort, Sr and Meta (Althaus) Herbort. On November 3, 1962, she married Kenneth Harlin Burleson in Fredericksburg. She retired from Waco Apparel after working for Sprayberry Hand Bags in Laguna Park and Lorch Company in West. Her favorite pastimes were reading, working word search puzzles and she loved old westerns on tv. She especially loved feeding and watching her hummingbirds. She was a loving wife, mother and sister. Preceding her death were her parents, her husband, Kenneth on October 9, 2004, and three brothers, Walter Herbort, Jr., Elmer Herbort, and Roy Herbort. Survivors include her daughter, Denise Burleson and son, Daniel Burleson, both of Aquilla as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors
