Michael Raymond Nelson May 13, 1943 - January 18, 2020 Obituary Mike was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on May 13, 1943 to Captain R.A. “Doc” Nelson and Bessie Vera Nelson. Mike attended grade, high school, and college in Wichita Falls, Texas. In 1967, he graduated from the Texas Department of Public Safety and rose to the rank of Lieutenant. He served with DPS for 34 years. The most important thing that happened to Mike was his marriage to Kathryn Green in 1967. They were married for 53 years. Mike and Kathy were blessed with the three children: Michael Andrew Nelson, Charles Rebman Nelson, and Kathryn Idabel McMurren. Mike’s three children blessed him with four grandchildren Tyler Nelson to Andy, Mason Nelson to Rebb and Missy, Riley and Emma Kate McMurren to Katie and David.
