James William Ward, 78, passed away January 16, 2020 in Baytown, Texas. James was born on January 23, 1941 in Jackson, Mississippi to parents George and Ruby (Herring) Ward. He was a sports fanatic and enjoyed coaching little league baseball for many years. James was a dedicated employee at Armco Steel for over 20 years, and he also served as a door greeter at Wal-Mart over 10 years. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. James is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda Louise Ward; daughters, Cynthia Ann Vercher and Karen Lynn Perez. He is survived by his daughter, Shelly Marie Heathcock; sister, Evelyn Nagle; grandchildren, Megan Lynette Cummings, Brandy Louise Rasmussen, John Douglas Heathcock Jr., Joey Angel Ward, Ronnie J. Grindstaff; great-grandchildren, Fallon, Hunter, Corrigaan, Suttiynn, Skylar, Emily; as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Memorial services are pending at this time.
