Irene Virginia Hardaway, 97 of Athens, Alabama, died Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Athens Health and Rehab. Mrs. Hardaway was born December 20, 1922 in Limestone County, she was a member of Enon Baptist Church and she was a homemaker. Services will be 1PM Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Kelley and Derril Robertson officiating, burial in Sandlin Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-9pm Tuesday at Spry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Troy Hardaway, Mark Robertson, Eddie Robertson, Nick Thompson, Cody Thompson and Darren Sharpe. Honorary Pallbearer is Scotty Hardaway. Survivors: Sons, V. J. Hardaway of Athens and Lawrence Hardaway of Athens; Six Grandchildren, Thirteen Great Grandchildren, Six Great Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by: Husband, Donald Hardaway; Daughter, Mauvoline Hardaway.
