Arlin K. Neujahr, 93, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Sunday, January 12, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Home in Osceola, Nebraska. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, at 10:30 AM, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Patrick Sparling and Rev. Chris Ramstad officiating. Interment will be in the Columbus Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Wednesday at 10:15 AM at the church. Memorials are suggested as those of the donor's or family choice. Arlin Neujahr was born on June 12, 1926, to Carl and Olga (Schultz) Neujahr in Butler County, Nebraska. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Gresham, Nebraska. He attended school in Gresham and graduated from Gresham High School in 1944. After high school, Arlin began farming with his father and the family relocated to the Duncan, Nebraska, area in 1947, where Arlin raised cattle and hogs for over 40 years. On January 27, 1952, Arlin was united in marriage to Linda Schacher at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Arlin served on various local boards in the Duncan area and attended St. John’s Lutheran Island Church in rural Duncan, until it closed, at which time, he began attending Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus. Arlin enjoyed playing cards, following his grandchildren’s activities, Nebraska sports, and meeting his friends for coffee. In 2015, he moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Osceola, Nebraska. Arlin is survived by: Son: Larry (Janet) Neujahr of Osceola, NE Son: Randy (Pam) Neujahr of Osceola, NE Son: Gayle (Special Friend – Debi Pliefke) Neujahr of Columbus, NE Daughter: Debra (Rex) Kuhn of Roca, NE 9 Grandchildren 12 Great Grandchildren Sister-in-law: Viola Schacher of Duncan, NE Arlin was preceded in death by: Parents: Carl & Olga Neujahr Wife: Linda Neujahr Brothers: Harold, Clarence, & Norbert Neujahr
