Mr. George Edward Toth, Sr., of Ennis, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 at the age of 91 years. George was born in the Oak Grove community on September 4, 1928, to George William Toth and Mary Barbara (Dvorak) Toth. He grew up in Oak Grove and attended school in the area. George served our country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his service. On August 22, 1953 George married the love of his life, Anna Leona Slovak. They lived their entire married life in Ennis, Texas. George was a loyal employee of Ennis Business Forms for 34 years as an electrician. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the KJT, and St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. His other interests were, of course, his family first and foremost, cattle, horseback riding and woodworking. The Rosary will be recited at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Ennis, on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. with Mass of the Christian Burial following at 10:00 a.m. with Father John Dick as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Ennis, under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
