James married Tommie Marie Rich on June 21, 1947 in McKinney, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Tommie M. Gantt of McKinney, Texas; sons, Robert Gantt and wife Donna of Lampasas, Texas and Danny T. Gantt and wife Grace of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Penny Boyle and husband Patrick of Plano, Texas and Patti Carter and husband Jay of McKinney, Texas; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
