Victor A. Kaspar Virginia Beach - Victor A. Kaspar, 94, passed away August 14, 2012 at home with family by his side. Victor served his country honorably for 67 years. Victor enlisted in the U. S. Navy on December 22, 1936 when he was 18 years old. He was a Yeoman. During Wolrd War II he advanced from Seaman 1st Class to Chief Yeoman. Some of the ships that he served on were: USS Vestal AR-4 USS Indianapolis CA-35 USS Stack DD-406 USS Pastores AF-16 USS Anne Arundel AP-76 USS Auburn AGC-10 USS Dayton CL-105 After his Naval service, he worked for the Government. One of his positions was the Personnel Officer at Naval Communication Station Norfolk, Norfolk, Virginia. Prior to his twin brother Virgil's death on May 4, 2012, Virgil & Victor were the oldest living twin veterans of WWII. He was survived by 3 sons, Philip, Brian & Mario; 5 grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jenny Ann, Jonathan, Mario Quinten & Skyler; and daughter-in-law Danette. A memorial service was held on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
