Bio

Carl Wilhelm "Charlie" Senkel was the son of John and Bertha (Kuhl) Senkel, both natives of Germany. Charlie married Mathilda Rosentreter on April 11, 1912, at Shive, in Hamilton County, Texas. They lived their married life at Thrall, in Williamson County, Texas, where they farmed and were members of St. John Lutheran Church of Thrall. Charlie and Mathilda were married 68 years. They had no children born to them. ********************************************************************** OBITUARY FROM THE TAYLOR NEWSPAPER: Charlie W. Senkel, 90, of Thrall, died Monday, June 23, in Johns Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 25 at 2 p.m. at Condra Memorial Chapel in Taylor with Rev. Wilburn Kensing officiating. Burial will be in Taylor City Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Charlie Senkel of Thrall; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Hehmann, Mrs. Emma Krieg, and Mrs. Elsie Lange, all of Taylor; and one brother, Herman Senkel of Taylor.
