Bio

Mason County News, October 3, 2018. Henry LeRoy James, known as LeRoy to most, passed away on September 22, 2018, at the age of 77. Born March 07, 1941 to Louie L James and Gertrude Evelyn Wilkinex James. LeRoy and his beloved wife, Shana K James, moved to this beautiful town in the 1990’s, but Mason was always a home away from home for them and their family. LeRoy is remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, loved ones and friends as a caring, light hearted, godly, and joyful man to be around. Whoever met LeRoy was impacted by his warm and fun nature, and felt as if they knew him for a lifetime. LeRoy served in the US National Guard for four years right out of high school. He was honorably discharged and then worked in San Antonio, Texas, where he lived with his family. He managed truck drivers and operated his own route for Mission Ice which later became Ready Ice. His integrity and work ethic led to his promotion to the hill country route which is how he ended up living in Mason, a town he loved as his own home town. LeRoy met the love of his life, Shana, in 1965. She knew him as Dear and Honey. He was an amazing father to three children: Brandon Lee, Shanlyn Michelle, and Shane Gordon James. He loved his children dearly and supported them in whatever endeavors they were a part of. He always invested in them spiritually. LeRoy was also a grandfather to Brandon Lee, Joshua Benjamin, Jesus Benjamin, and Joy Hashana James. All love him dearly and share their own unique bond with him. They love and miss their Pepaw and Grandpa very much. LeRoy was also blessed with five greatgrandchildren: Blane, Kaden, Elizabeth Clair, Stella Grace, and Madison, and he loved them as he loved his own children. LeRoy recommitted his life to Jesus Christ in 1987, and his life was greatly changed. From that moment on, he was known by his loved ones to be a man who prayed, read the Bible daily, and truly lived a life of faith in God. LeRoy is now with the Lord in His eternal home, continuing to love, worship and serve the Lord wholeheartedly. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, October 6, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Mason. Condolences may be sent to the family on-line at masonfuneralhome.net. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mason funeral Home.
