Bio

Margie Nell Morgan December 16, 1927 - December 6, 2016 Obituary for Margie Nell Morgan Margie Nell Morgan (née Heifner) died peacefully at home in Fairview, TX on Tuesday, December 6th at the age of 88, within a mile of where she was born and raised. She was a Collin county pioneer. Margie is survived by her husband of 66 years; her son (wife) and son (wife); her granddaughter (husband), granddaughter and granddaughter; her sisters; and her cousin. Margie was born on December 16, 1927 in Lucas, TX to William Irby Heifner and Pearl Heifner (née Jones). Much of her childhood education was spent at the Lovejoy ISD one room schoolhouse. She later attended and graduated Allen High School in 1945. Immediately following school she worked in downtown Dallas for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. While working there she went on a blind date with an Aggie from Plano and her life changed forever. Margie and John were married in 1950 and the couple bought a home in Dallas where John began a successful career in the oil business. Margie faithfully followed him to the Panama Canal Zone, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Midland and finally back to Dallas. All along, Margie, a very loving and nurturing mother, set about the task of raising their two sons. Margie was an excellent pianist who was self-taught and played by ear. She would often bring an idle piano to life, entertaining all that were near with a lively tune. She was also a prolific artist and painter. Her beautiful works fill the family home and her "Empty Tomb" painting is hung at the First Baptist Church of Bonham where the couple attended for several years. Margie also authored several poems expressing her deep faith in Christ and loved reciting them at Christmas and other important gatherings. Margie held a lifelong interest in nutrition and endeavored to further her education for many of her adult years. She obtained her PhD in nutrition in 2008 at the age of 80. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. John Mark Davidson, Family Minister at Skillman Church of Christ will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Margie's life. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. source: Restland obituary (portrait on website)
