Vera Mae Johnson, 88, of Vidor, TX died Saturday, December 21st, 2019 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Cravens, LA she was a longtime resident of Vidor and member of First Baptist Church of Vidor. Vera enjoyed sewing, quilting, and reading western novels. She was known to have a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, December 22, 2019 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Monday, December 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Vera is survived by 2 daughters; Suzy Cain and her husband C.H. of Anahuac, TX and Etta Sowell and her husband John of Vidor, 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters; Veta Goodwin and Rovera Feaster along with numerous nieces and nephews. Vera was preceded in death by her husband; Harlis Johnson, 1 daughter; Darlene Curlice and 1 granddaughter; Jessic Lee Cain.
