Bio

Harry Allen Akin- age 70 passed away Friday December 13, 2019 at the VA Hospital in Houston. Harry was born March 10, 1949 in San Diego, CA. the son of the late Robert Edward Amador and Velma Laverne Dalrymple. Harry enjoyed mountain climbing, reading, inventing, and watching movies. Harry was a talker who enjoyed telling a good story. A hardworking, good man, during Harry's childhood he lived in Beaumont, Houston, and El Paso, where he was raised by his mother and his step-father Harry Akin. Harry was a self-employed heavy equipment operator. A veteran of the Vietnam War he served his country twice, once in the Marines and later reenlisted into the Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his two sons Adam Allen Akin and Phillip Shane Akin. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters Amber Jones, Mary Schulze and husband Gary, son Joseph Akin, Step-brothers Mike Winship and wife Maria, and Robert C. Amador and his wife Charli. In addition he leaves his four grandchildren Harley Kirchner, Abigail Schulze, Allison Schulze, and Ryan Akin. Harry also leaves numerous children-grandchildren that he considered to be his own and treated as such. Funeral services for Harry will be held at 11AM Monday December 23, 2019 at Sterling White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial to take place at 1:45PM Monday at Houston National Cemetery.
