GEORGE YONKIE DIES FOLLOWING TRACTOR ACCIDENT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ George Yonkie, 64, Columbus, died Saturday following a tractor accident on the Ed Guenther farm. Rt. 2, Columbus. Funeral service was held Wednesday at the Federated Church. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The son of Henry and Plessie Yonkie, he was born Feb 7, 1908., in Richland. He moved to Columbus in 1936 when he engaged in farming. The last 17 years he was employed by the State Highway Dept. of Roads. He is survived by his wife and one brother, Mervin. His parents preceded him in death. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stevenson of Minneapolis, Minn., vistited Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stevenson and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kluck Sunday afternoon. They arrived to attend the funeral of his cousin, George Yonkie, who died Saturday following a tractor accident on the Ed Guenther farm. Source: Adele (Stevenson) Geiser personal belongings.
