Bio
Betty M. Kuklis (Anderson) of Cloquet passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019. She was born November 27, 1926 in Brookston, MN to Hjalmer and Minnie (Severson) Anderson. Her door was always open, and she welcomed all into her home. Betty loved having a good cup of coffee with family and friends and especially her brother Bob’s lemon meringue pie! She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, shopping, rooting for the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings and thoroughly enjoyed beating her family in cards and repeatedly losing to her great grandson, Solomon in cribbage. Betty also enjoyed being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her wit, kindness, sense of humor and sassiness. Betty was a great mother and grandmother! Betty worked at Target in Duluth in 1960 starting as a cashier to becoming the head bookkeeper. After her retirement in 1982, she and her husband, Jim, spent many winters in Arizona. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; brothers, Oscar, Harry, Gustav, George and Bill; sister, Myrtle and granddaughter, Melissa; her special friends, Dorothy Jahr and Joyce Bailey. She is survived by her children: James Jr, (Lisa) Kuklis, Dan (Cindy) Kuklis, Jerry (Diane) Kuklis, Debra (John) Tarbutton and Jeff Kuklis; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; brother, Robert; sisters: Shirley Fuller and Mildred Birchall and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She will be laid to rest with her husband, James at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in the spring.
