Leyte Louise "Nanny" Ussery, age 74 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Friday, December 6, 2019. She was born March 15, 1945 in Cleveland, Texas to parents Otis and Mary Johnson who preceded her in death along with her husband, Jesse Charles Ussery, Sr.; sisters, "Sister" Keen, Virginia Lum, Ruby Moran and Puddin Johnson; brothers, Buddy Johnson, Nelson Johnson, and Marshall Johnson; and son, Danny Ray Ussery. Leyte retired from Cleveland ISD as a bus aide. She enjoyed baking cakes and taking care of children. Leyte will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son, Jesse "Charles" Ussery, Jr. and wife Janet; sisters, Mary Louise Lum, Carrie Fay Woodard, Ocie Evelyn Loving and husband Butch, and Elizabeth Ferguson and husband Pete; brothers, Otis "Junior" Johnson, and O.J. Johnson and wife Christine; grandchildren, Brandon Ussery and Breanna Ussery; along with numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Plum Grove Cemetery.
