Bio

From Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona dated Wed. Sep 6, 2000: Roy Parker, 94, of Phoenix, passed away on September 2nd in Phoenix. He had been retired for 27 years and resided at the Beatitudes Campus of Care, where he lived since 1975. He was born in Thayer Nebraska on April 26, 1906. After marrying Estella Davis on February 3, 1929 and attending Hastings College, Hastings Nebraska, he went to work for the J.C. Penney Company. He managed the J. C. Penney Company in Storm Lake, Iowa for 32 years. While in Storm Lake, he was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Aub Beker Shrine Temple, and a leader in the Methodist Church. After retiring from the J. C. Company, he became manager of two different Nursing Homes, and finally retire to Phoenix Arizona. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Estella, his two sons, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Services were held at the Trinty United Methodist Church on Tuesday September 5, 2000.
