Percy Albert Weyer, 90, of Port Orchard, Washington, died on October 10, 2000. He was born in the back of a covered wagon on September 9, 1910, to William Albert Weyer and Mildred (Nancy) Essie Hironimous, in Toppenish, Washington. He and his family moved often, settling in the Baker Valley, Oregon area where he met and married Dessima Lois Sutton on December 18, 1933 in Baker, Oregon. Percy and Dessima lived in Baker, Oregon and Nampa, Idaho for most of their younger years. Percy enjoyed farming and had a love for horses. He worked various jobs in his life that included dairy farms, cattle ranches, and buying and selling stock. The stockyards were one of Percy's favorite places to be. He once worked for Charlie Gossett, the Governor of Idaho, on his ranch. In 1950, he moved his family to the Puget Sound area. He bought a piece of land and continued his love of farming and animals. He began work in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, worked there for twenty years in Shop 17, retiring in November 1970. Percy's one of the last of the old-time cowboys. He loved singing old songs, telling stories, and had a great sense of humor. He will truly be missed by all. Percy is survived by his loving wife , Dessima; sons Norman, Marvin, Jack Weyer , and Donald; daughters Shirley and Nancy; twenty two grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren. The famly will take his ashes to the Nampa, Idaho area at a later date to be scattered by their daughter, Nancy. For Cenotaph see Memorial number 76550194
