Son of Edward & Hattie (Schmidt) Schmidt. Married to Vera S. Schefcick on 1-30-1939 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church at Columbus, NE. The couple lived in Columbus their entire life except for a few years in Omaha. Julius was employed as a local carpenter and worked at Irrigation Pump. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Julius was an avid fisherman, mechanic, gardener and loved animals. He will be remembered by his family as being truly one of a kind and he will never be forgotten. We will miss him everyday but we take comfort in knowing he is safe and happy in Heaven with loved ones he was waiting a long, long time to see again. Now somewhere up above us there is a dog barking and extremely loud polka music playing. If you should find yourself in Heaven someday needing to know what time it is, just ask Julius....never without both of his 2 wristwatches, he will certainly be able to tell you.
