Vaughan, John Otis 22 Sep 1934 - 24 Sep 2009 HoldenFH [Note: Son of Jasper Otis & Mary ( ) Vaughan; married 1956 Carole] John Otis Vaughan, age 85, of Nixa, Missouri entered glory on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. John was born in Tomball, TX on September 22, 1934. He grew up in Houston, TX with his parents Jasper Otis and Mary Vaughan along with his three sisters and four brothers. John graduated from the University of Houston. He was employed with AT&T for 35 years. Always a quick wit, John will be remembered for his wisdom, his deep love and devotion for his family, the strong values he encouraged in his children and grandchildren, his handyman skills and enjoyment of landscaping, traveling the country, and sharing sight-seeing trips with friends. He enjoyed reading American history and the Bible. He loved God's Word and his faith permeated his entire character and personality. He was loved by his family and their comfort is in the knowledge they will be with him one day. John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carole; three children David (Lori), Julie Thurburn (Lee), Dennis (Beth); granddaughter, Katelyn, grandsons, Michael (Chelsea), John William (fiancé' Annabell), Logan (fiancé' Jacqueline), Lucas (Priscilla); two great granddaughters, Heidi Grace and Eloise Renee; and brother in law Steve White (Debbie). A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Nixa First Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Haupt officiating. Cremation is in the care of Holden Cremation and Funeral Service. Service is family directed, floral delivery will need to be made to the church.
