Bio
Anna Kempf the daughter of Andrew and Emma (Pavel) Reznicek was born June 22, 1915 in Linwood, Nebraska. She died on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 104. Anna met her husband at a dance and dated for five years. On February 6, 1940 she was united in marriage to Frank Kempf at St. Wenceslaus Church in Dodge, Nebraska. They moved to Iowa and lived on a farm northwest of Graettinger, where they farmed until 1966. In February of 1966, the couple retired and moved into a home in Graettinger. Frank died on May 1, 1998. In December of 1998, she moved to Willow Ridge in Emmetsburg. Anna enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, listening and singing music and making rugs. Most important was spending time with her family. She enjoyed residing at Parc Hall for the past 15 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Graettinger, Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of America. Left to cherish Anna's memory are her children, Melvin Kempf of Portland, Oregon; Elaine Hoffman and her husband, Larry of Graettinger; Richard Kempf and his wife, Muriel of Erie, Colorado; Marge Hoffman and her husband, Ronald of Emmetsburg; Marilyn Hauswirth, her husband, Gary of Thornton, Colorado; Francis Kempf, and his wife, Ruth of Sun City West, Arizona; Diane Kempf of Des Moines, Iowa; Dennis Kempf and his wife, Kristina of Fort Collins, Colorado and Jane Buchholz and her husband, Joe of Volcano, Hawaii; and 30 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren. She has been preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Agnes Cech, Lillian Dvorak, and Magdalena and brothers, James, Adolph, Emil, Edward, Frank, Ernest and George Reznicek and great great-grandchild, Niles.
