Obituary for Syble Jenice Jordan Syble Jenice Jordan, 72, passed away in Mobile, AL on Sunday, November 24, 2019. Syble was born to Johnnie H Lewis Sr. and Margie Abston Lewis on September 14, 1947 in Millry, AL. For the extent of her working life, she worked early on at Furniture Barn in the Client Billing Department. Syble worked with her Mother (Margie) in an At-Home Daycare for many years. She would move on to Westwood Baptist Daycare where she continued to work for 9 years. She loved children and this could be seen in the care that she gave to each of the children placed in her care. She also worked with her sisters (Sandra and Becky) making custom draperies. She would soon retire and take on her biggest role and that was Nana to her grandchildren. She would become their greatest and loudest cheerleader. Syble enjoyed sewing, putting together puzzles, watching football and baseball games (whether on TV or from the stands). Syble was a collector of cookbooks and would read them as if they were novels. She loved listening to southern gospel music and would attend the area local singings to support the local artists as well as the Bill Gather Homecoming Singings and Crabb Family concerts. Syble was a member of the GracePointe Church Mobile. She loved unconditionally and had the biggest heart. She will be greatly missed by all who ever had the opportunity to meet her. Syble joined her father Johnnie H. Lewis, Sr. She is survived by her mother Margie Abston Lewis; siblings, Sandra Lewis Williams, Rebecca Lewis, Johnny H Lewis, Jr (Rhonda); by her three loving children, Rhonda Jordan Baxter (Dean), James Jordan, Jr. (Jennifer), April Jordan Daniels (James); grandchildren, Heather Baxter McLeod (Sam), Joshua Baxter (Ashton), Caleb Baxter, Kelsey Bates, Kaleigh Bates, Tucker Bates; great-grandchild, Eleanor Jude McLeod; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, and other cherished family and friends. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at GracePointe Church in Mobile, AL with a service immediately following. Interment will be in Spring Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements by Ascension Funeral Home, 1016 Hillcrest Road, Mobile, Alabama 36695.
