********************************************* Kenneth J. Poyar, 62, of Omaha died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He was born Dec. 3, 1948, in Omaha to Joseph and Phyllis (Simmons) Poyar. He moved with his parents to Fremont as a young boy. He was a 1967 graduate of Fremont High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He later moved to Omaha. He previously was employed by Warren Distribution and Capital Express and former owner of Luxury Bath and a former part owner/operator of Progressive Sales, all in Omaha. Survivors include: sons, Christopher (and wife, Jamie) Poyar and Eric Poyar, all of Omaha; a sister, Janice (and husband, Richard) Wortman of Omaha; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Mengedoht. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. David Belt of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 10-11 a.m. Friday with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, all at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 854 and American Legion Post 20 at the funeral home following the funeral.
