Birmingham News (AL) - Sunday, September 18, 2011 MOBLEY, THELMA GARRETT Born April 25, 1907, passed away at the age of 104 on Friday, September 16, 2011. Thelma was an avid gardener and was involved with the United Christian Ministries through her church. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Howard College, her Masters Degree in Education from the University of Alabama, and taught 1st through 6th grade at Morris Grammar School for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.M. "Doc" Mobley; 1 sister, Grace; and 3 brothers: Herbert, Lawrence, and Ray. Thelma is survived by her son, Frederick Mobley; daughter, Joan Grimes; 4 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with funeral services on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Mr. Ray Wooten officiating and interment in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
