Daily Mountain Eagle 6/9/1938 Mrs. Sallie McMichael passed away on Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Horace Nations, at Acmar, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Carmel Church in Cordova on Wednesday afternoon. The body lay in state at the church from noon until two o'clock. The Rev. Gus Nichols officiated, assisted by Rev. McClesky. Mrs. McMichael formerly made her home in Cordova, but for the past several years she has lived in Acmar with her daughter. To know Mrs. McMichael was to love her. She was always so kind and pleasant. She was a good neighbor, loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. The beautiful floral offerings and the messages of love to the bereaved ones showed the high esteem in which she was held. She leaves to survive one daughter, Mrs. Horace Nations, of Acmar; two sons, John McMichael of Birmingham, and Vilas McMichael of Cordova' Her mother, Mrs. W. H. Higginbotham; two sisters, Mrs. Jim Nelson and Mrs. Jimmie Haynes of Cordova; one brother, Mr. Tip Higginbotham of Cordova, and several grandchildren and a host of friends. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones.
