Frances J. Leshikar, 76, of Taylor passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 with her children at her side. Visitation will be Friday, May 13th 6-8 PM & a prayer service will be 7:30 PM at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of life services will be10:30 AM Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Martin Doering officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Frances Jeanette Kreidel Leshikar was born November 21, 1929 in Coupland, Texas to John August and Lanora (Eschberger) Kreidel. She was one of three children. She attended Coupland schools. On April 30, 1946 she married Edwin Clyde Leshikar of Taylor, Texas. She received her Vocational Nursing License at Swanson Hospital in Taylor. She practiced her nursing career at the Taylor hospital and the Rockdale clinic and hospital in Rockdale, Texas. Frances was active in church, VFW Women s Auxiliary, VA Hospital Volunteer, and was a nursing home volunteer. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 54 years, Edwin C. Leshikar on May 12, 2000. Mourning her death, but celebrating her heavenly life are her children; Barbara Carter and husband, Dalton of Austin, Debora Carter of Taylor, Philip Leshikar and wife, Ann of Rockdale; seven grandchildren, Charleen Adair, Catherine Rodrigue, Nathan Carter, Christopher Carter, Brody Leshikar, Jordan Leshikar, Shelby, Leshikar; five great grandchildren, Emma Rodrigue, Jack Rodrigue, Kayla Adair, Shawn Adair, and Erwin Carter. The family extends warm thanks to the Taylor EMS medical crew, Dr. Carl Boethel, his team and the nurses of Scott and White ICU. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be directed to your church or the charity of your choice. Pallbearers will be Mike Adair, Pat Rodrigue, Chris Carter, Nathan Carter, Brody Leshikar, Shelby Leshikar, Jordan Leshikar.
