William 'Bill' Phelps MAGNOLIA, TEXAS - William 'Bill' Phelps, 79, of Magnolia, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2002, in Conroe, Texas. He was born January 14, 1923 in Bromide, Oklahoma, to Sidney and Emma Lee Phelps. Bill retired from Union Carbide as a maintenance supervisor in 1986 after 38 years of service. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13th, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson with the Pastor Jerry Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday morning at 11 a.m. until service time. Survivors include his wife, Elaine R. Phelps; six daughters, Monte S. Custer, Starla P. Flake, Karen P. Sutton, Phyllis P. Rehrer, Kelly S. Bright and Karen E. Phelan; son, Ronnie Bill Phelps; one brother Burnis 'Cotton' Phelps; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
