Richard Potter Obituary Richard C. Potter, Valparaiso, passed away Monday (3/5/07). He was born May 1, 1922. Richard married Lillian Benes on Sept. 22, 1947, and they spent 59 years of marriage together on their farm near Valparaiso. He was a farmer; veteran of World War II, 546 Battery B; member of Saints Mary and Joseph Catholic Church of Valparaiso; a Catholic Workman for Branch 187; American Legion Post 371, V.F.W. 10491; Grand Voture 80/4; and a part of the Saunders County Livestock Association. Survivors include: wife, Lillian; son, daughter-in-law, Richard B. and Marcia Potter, Valparaiso, and their children Casey, Cody, Catherine and Carla; son, daughter-in-law, Jerry and Judy Potter of Valparaiso and their children Jeff and Jason Potter and Janelle Malousek along with her husband Jeff and their son Tyson (great-grandchild); daughter, son-in-law, Mary Ann and Arnold Vandenberg of Brainard and their children Michael, Curt, Sara and Alan Vandenberg; brother, sister-in-law, Robert and Betty Potter; sister, brother-in-law, Dolores and Ermin Benes; sister-in-law, Helen Potter; aunt, Lucille Vlach. Preceded in death by parents, Richard S. and Mary Potter; brother, Ben Potter. Mass of Christian burial: 10 a.m. Friday, Saints Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, Valparaiso. Visitation: noon-5 p.m. today, church. Rosary: 7 p.m. today, church. Military honors by American Legion Post 371. Wadlow Rozanek Funeral Home, Valparaiso.
