March 8, 1923 ~ September 30, 2018 Frank Mike Matias was born to Alois Matias and Mary Pustka Matias in Shiner, Tx. During his 12th year of school in Shiner, Frank was called to service during World War II. He returned home, took a job with Red Arrow Freight Lines and later with Southwestern Motor Transport where he was employed for 38 years. In 1951, he married Elvie Bellmer. As a cook during his service time, Frank developed a love of cooking and the family opened a catering business which endured for many years. He was involved in many organizations, Hermann Sons Life, St Margaret Mary's Mens Club and the Knights of Columbus were just a few. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Elvie, his son Frank Jr., three brothers, Joseph, Anton and Louis and four sisters, Mary Peterek, Filomena Blaschke, Annie Siegel and Rosie Kulhanek. Frank is survived by his daughter Diana and husband Ken Proud. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Kenneth Proud II, Kevin Proud and wife Lauren, and Cristina Matias and 5 great grandchildren, Ava, Charlotte, Alexandria, Emma and Stella. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to Ronnie Zimmerman for all your love and support. And special gratitude to the amazing staff at Brookdale Lohmans Crossing that so loved and cared for Frank. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with a funeral mass to begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San Jose Burial Park.
